Common sense

Where did the good old common sense go? I don’t see it around so started to wonder is it in hiding?

With everything going on in the world, perhaps it just decided to throw in the towel. Just to be clear: I did just spend an afternoon watching R. Gervais in the last season of After life.  He uses humor to hide in plain sight and needed two season to realize: life in fact is not fair and the superpower is not to care as little as possible but to care a lot about what matters.  Like some of us, misfits, but let’s move along now,…

Maybe I’m delusional but I do remember common sense being, well, ‘common’.  I remember when manners mattered. Or am I just getting old? What I don’t remember is having labels on a mattress telling us not to chew it or not to put small children in the dryer.  Is that really so much to ask for?  Maybe it is.

Now, when it comes to people who are still in possession of common sense, I’d like to introduce to you to judge Frank Caprio ( also known as the ‘ The Nicest Judge in the world’) ! If you’re not already familiar with him you can look him up on YouTube or on IG (@therealfrankcapiro). This is one of few people who almost poetically uses common sense.  There are too many stories to mention, but it’s beautiful, heartwarming and humane work this man does. His rulings are run by law of the man and compassion of common sense.  Watching him do his job has often restored my faith in humanity! You need to watch at least one clip on YouTube or his social media and you will understand. I’d love to praise the man like he deserves, but words wouldn’t do him justice. If you have a misfortune of ending up in the court of justices, I wish everyone a judge, the man like him.  Here’s to wishing common sense makes a comeback and understanding for those who don’t possess it. It’s never too late!
