Origin Story

I was born in a land far far away that quite literally no longer exists. It wasn’t by choice but some strange design.  These could easily become a pages long story, but I will spare you of that.

Instead I’ll tell you how amazed I am when I watch shows like ‘Finding your roots’ and ‘Who do you think you are’. In my microcosm of a nuclear family for at least 3,4 generations (mine/sibling/first cousins included) on maternal side, they’ve only married within their race, nationality and religion. Mind you, my mother had 5 siblings, her mother 7, and almost all of them  procreated. Snooze…And then you watch shows like those and  just like that you go from personal ancestry that’s black and white ( and often silent) to a multicolor talkie! Talk about America being a melting pot. If you’re into genealogy check it out if you already haven’t. Maybe it’s as simple as my friend said’ people always want what they don’t/ can’t have’. The end!

More on my chosen family over given one,  generational trauma/generational curse and other related subjects to come.
